By A Staff Reporter,Bhaktapur, Feb. 10: Indira Chapagain has come up with 'Drishtigochar'  a collection of short stories in Nepali.

Member of Language Commission Gopal Ashk, critic Hari Prasad Bhandari, secretary of the society Dhruva Madhikarmi, and chairperson of the Laghu Katha Kendra, Lata KC, jointly launuched the book amid an event held recently in Bhaktapur.

At the event organised by Sijana Abhiyan Samaj, Ashk emphasised that short stories require the use of fewer words and must avoid redundancy, stressing the importance of careful writing. "The short stories included in Drishtigochar are thoughtful and impressive," he said.

Critic Bhandari stated that the short stories included in the book are engaging and based on the theoretical concept of short stories.  "Without theoretical base, the short piece of the fiction turns into joke, not Laghukatha (short stories)," he commented.

Chairperson of the Center, KC, extended best wishes to author Chapagain on her 53rd birthday and wished for the success of the collection.

Society secretary Madhikarmi mentioned that Srijana Abhiyan is actively promoting the creative activities of various literary genres.

At the event moderated by Mandira Chapagain and Dhruvaraj Thapa, author Chapagain shared her feelings while writing the short stories.

Chapagain’s daughter, Binila Bhattrai, expressed pride in her mother’s ability to keep her literary creativity alive despite her hectic family life.

Writers Angel Neelu, Ramesh Subedi, Biren Malakar, and Shanta Timsina read out the short stories from the collection.

The collection consists of 53 brief stories. This is the second work by the author.
