Actor Koirala comes up with poetry collection

Kathmandu, Feb. 3: Actor Raj Ballav Koirala released his first poetry collection, ‘Aura’ amid a programme held in Kathmandu on Saturday.

He shared that the collection of poetry, ‘Aura’ was created as a gift for his daughter.

“After COVID-19, I suddenly realised that we might not be in this world at any moment. The poetry collection is my way of leaving something behind for my beloved daughter, ‘Aura’, and for the well-wishers who love me,” said actor Koirala while launching his poetry collection.

The book was unveiled by poet Biplav Pratik, journalist Dil Bhushan Pathak, director Deepa Shree Niraula, and Sahitya Post’s chief editor and publisher, Ashwini Koirala.

Before the event, Ram Krishna Pokharel, director of Icefall Productions, welcomed the guests and expressed his belief that Raj Ballabh’s poetry collection would serve as a bridge between cinema and literature.

The event also featured a poetry reading session with background music. Recalling his meeting with Raj Ballabh in Dallas, USA, poet Biplav Pratik praised the poems and the book’s cover design.

Director Deepa Shree Niraula said that the poetry collection is proof that Raj Ballabh has matured not only as an actor but also as a poet. She encouraged him to continue appearing in films.

Published by Shabda Media, the book is priced at Rs. 450.
