NOC hikes petroleum prices

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb.1: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petroleum products. A meeting of the NOC's Board of Directors held on Friday decided to increase the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel. 

The NOC has decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs. 2 per litre and diesel and kerosene by Rs. 4 per litre each. The new price will come into effect from Friday midnight (February 1, 2025).

According to a press statement of the NOC, the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel have been increased due to the increase in their price lists received from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Friday. The price of petrol in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and Dipyal has reached Rs. 167 per litre.

Similarly, petrol will now cost Rs. 164.50 per litre each in the first category (Chaarali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhjung, Nepalgunj, dhangadhi and Birgunj) and Rs. 166 in the second category (Surkhet and Dang). 

Likewise, the price of diesel and kerosene in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and Dipayal has reached Rs. 160 per litre each.

Similarly, diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs. 157.50 per litre each in the first category and Rs. 159 in the second category. The NOC has increased the price of aviation fuel for domestic flights by Rs. 6 per litre to Rs. 132 per litre.

Similarly, the NOC has increased the price of aviation fuel for international flights by USD 43 per kilolitres. 

According to the NOC, the selling price of aviation fuel for international flights for Pokhara and Bhairahawa has been maintained at breakeven point.

As per the adjusted price, price of aviation fuel for international flights reached USD 1,003 per kiloliter for Kathmandu, USD 832 for Pokhara and USD 816 for Bhairahawa.

The NOC said that the price of cooking gas remained unchanged.
