blog

By Our Correspondent,Tamghas, Jan. 29: Deputy General Secretary of the ruling CPN-UML Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has stated that the constitution will be amended with the broader participation of the political parties.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Nepal in Tamghas, Gulmi, on Tuesday, he said that the amendment would involve as many parties as possible.

He also claimed that a mechanism would be formed between two major parties to move forward with the work of the constitution amendment.

Gyawali emphasised that issues that arose during the 10 years of the constitution’s implementation would be reviewed and addressed accordingly.

In another context, Gyawali stated that no one involved in cooperative scandals would be spared.

He assured that anyone guilty no matter whether they are from the ruling parties or opposition parties would be brought under legal scrutiny.

He further mentioned that the current government was formed to overcome extreme despair in the country and to establish political stability.

Those engaging in destabilising politics are now in distress, he claimed.

Gyawali asserted that the current government was formed to deliver results.

He claimed that since the formation of the current government, the country’s economic situation has stabilised, and development has gained momentum.

Gyawali criticised those spreading pessimism, adding that all 77 districts were now connected by a road network, signalling a gradual development progress.

He mentioned that the halt in economic assistance imposed by US President Donald Trump’s administration would also impact Nepal.

While the effect may not be significant, programmes related to maternal and child support and immigration policies could affect Nepalis, he said.

He further stated that the trade war between the US and China would have repercussions for Nepal, adding that the current government was working to maintain balance in foreign policy to address these challenges.
