A local Birendra Bahadur Rawal from Kuine said that the tiger attacked when Bitalu was about to sleep.

The tiger escaped after hearing loud noises from people around Chhaugoth.

The tiger ran away due to the noise of people and electric light, Bitalu is slightly injured,

Rawal said, "Bitalu was struck by a tiger's paw on the head wounding her head and face. Tiger could not put his teeth on the woman as it was late at night. Injured Bitalu has been brought to Lamki for treatment this morning. Her condition is said to be stable and out of danger."

The practice of staying in huts during menstruation is still common in some areas of Kailali.

Even though wards and municipalities have been declared hut-free, many people still follow this tradition.
