Lamjung, Jan 12: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said that the government has taken swift action through ordinances to address pressing issues.
Speaking at the 58th anniversary of Tribhuvan Secondary School at Ghanpokhara in Lamjung on Sunday, Minister Gurung explained that ordinances were necessary to effectively deliver on development, good governance, national economic improvement, and job creation.
He emphasized that creating new laws and amending existing ones was essential for the government to achieve tangible results, noting that the parliamentary process could take up to a year and a half.

Currently, 13 legislations related to good governance, 14 related to finance, and three related to education and forestry are undergoing amendment through ordinances, he said.
Gurung assured that the government would efficiently resolve the issues in the national economy, public administration, and good governance by devising these legal instruments.
"We are committed to combating corruption and increasing revenue collection," Minister Gurung added.
One the occasion, Minister Gurung also mentioned an upcoming ordinance that would allow to appoint a chairperson and vice-chairperson if both positions were suspended or vacant for various reasons at the local government level until the next election.
On a different note, Minister Gurung suggested that there should be vacancies for sports teacher and computer teacher, and an arrangement of school bus in every community school.
He viewed that the government's investment would be paid off if the school education was more systematic.
