Commission on Shuklaphanta displacement present reports to government

Kathmandu, Jan 12: The Commission formed to address the issues faced by those displaced by Shuklaphanta National Park in 2081 has submitted its report to Minister for Forest and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri.     

Commission Chair Jayanand Paneru handed the document to the minister today at his office.     

The Commission was established by the Cabinet on September 18, with a three-month mandate to prepare its working procedures.     

It includes Kanchanpur's Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Sapkota, Chief Revenue Officer of the Land Reform and Revenue Office, Kanchanpur, Laxman Bahadur Kathayat, Chief Survey Officer of the Survey Office, Kanchanpur, Kishan Singh Bist, and Divisional Forest Officer of the Division Forest Office, Kanchanpur, Rambichari Thakur as members.     

The senior conservation officer at Shuklaphanta National Park, Kanchanpur, Manoj Kumar Shah, serves as the Commission's member-secretary.     

The Commission began its work on September 23 and has now submitted its report to the government along with its submissions.(RSS)
