Agriculture Minister stresses on role of cooperatives to make women self-reliant

Kirtipur (Kathmandu), Jan 12: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has said that cooperatives have an important role in making women self-reliant.     

Inaugurating the 'Digital Himalayan Sweets and Treats', a fruit processing industry established by Digital Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited here today, he said the role of cooperatives was important to alleviate poverty and make women self-reliant.     

Minister Adhikari opined that there were relatively few problems in women-led cooperatives.     

He said that he has found the cooperatives operating at the local level have made women self-reliant and they had to depend less on their husbands for money.(RSS)
