Kathmandu, Jan 12: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today moved the Special Court against engineer Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, the then employee at various offices under the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation.
Shrestha faced a charge sheet for his alleged involvement in the amassment of an unsourced amount of Rs 48.83 million.
According to CIAA Spokesperson Narahari Ghimire, Shreshtha has been alleged of amassing property unlawfully in the name of irrigation projects and water-induced disaster control initiatives.
He had been found purchasing vehicles and land in different areas in Kathmandu and Lalitpur, investing in various companies and concealing movable and immovable properties in the names of others including his family members.
The CIAA has requested the confiscation of the properties allegedly amassed unlawfully, naming Shrestha's spouse, father, mother, and son as defendants in the case. (RSS)
