By Leelaraj Khadka, Birtamod, Jan.9: Police have arrested an Indian national with a rhinoceros horn and narcotic drugs from Kakarbhitta, Mechinagar Municipality in Jhapa on the Nepal-India border.
The joint team of the District Police Office and Area Police Office, Kakarbhitta, reached the spot after receiving secret information and arrested Indian national Narayan Ramdham of Uttar Mandabari of West Bengal, India, from a hotel room of a Himalayan Guest House at Kakarbhitta, Mechinagar Municipality in Jhapa on 3:30 PM on Wednesday with narcotics. They recovered narcotics after the search of a hotel room.
Police seized a Rhino horn weighing one kilogram of 700 grams was found incident the cartoon inscribed Intex, 3 grams and 760 milligrams of brown sugar wrapped in plastic, 18 Pyeevon Spas Plus tablets, digital scales, and a set of mobile phones from the hotel room.
Police Inspector Mehegi Lhamu Tamang said that Ramdham has been taken into custody at the area police office, Kakarbhitta. The seized rhino horn has been sent to laboratory for investigation.
