Dhangadhi (Kailali), Jan 8: Minister for Water Supply, Pradip Yadav, has said the government is working to ensure access to safe drinking water for all citizens.
In his address to a programme
organised by the Federal Water Supply and Sewage Management Project here today,
the Minister said he had been here to assess the situation. He took time to say
that the incumbent government has accorded top priority to citizen's access to
pure drinking water and is working accordingly.
He added that the government is
committed to addressing the drinking water issue in the Sudurpaschim
Province.
The Minister expressed his
commitment to realizing the government's 'one house one tap' approach. He also
expressed his concerns over growing encroachment on the Chure region and the
depletion of water resources due to climate change. The Minister insisted on
stern action against those responsible for the Chure exploitation.
On the occasion, Ministry Secretary
Pramila Devi Shakya, Joint Secretary Rambabu Puri, and Director General of the
Department of Water Supply and Sewage Management, Ramkumar Shrestha, were
