Cold wave makes life difficult in Terai

Nawalparasi Corespondent, Kawasoti, Jqan.6: Life has become difficult in Terai for a few days owing to the cold wave. 

Life in the Terai district has been difficult while the commute and trade have also been affected due to the cold wave and thick fog.

Activities have been limited owing to the surging cold in Terai from the first week of January. 

Birendra Parajuli of Kawasoti-8 said that it is difficult to go out of the house when cold waves and cold winds blow along with the thick fog.

Poor families have been suffering more in the cold as there are insufficient things such as warm clothes, warm blankets, duvets during surging cold. 

According to Health Office Nawalpur, the number of patients has started to increase due to cold in health institutions.

Dilliram Tiwari, Health Officer of the District Health Office, said cold-related diseases such as 'cold diarrhea', pneumonia, fever, cough, and cold and flu surface as the mercury goes down. 

He said, "Asthma patients need to avoid cold and wear warm clothes and eat hot food as they are more affected by cold."

He has asked the locals not to go outside in the cold, keep children in warm rooms, stay in oxygenated rooms, and be careful when using heaters.
