KMC strengthening capacity of public school teachers

Kathmandu, Jan 4: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)’s Education Department has called for teachers of the public schools to participate in the capacity building training during the winter vacation.     

Under the 'Teacher College Programme', teachers of public schools are being training.     

KMC’s City Planning Commission member, engineer Shailendra Jha said that the training is being conducted as part of the plan to certify the qualifications obtained by the teachers from the university by developing their capacity through the medium of training.     

He said the training was being conducted as investment was required for capacity building of teachers to improve the results of public schools.     

According to Jha, the vacation is being used in such a way that educational activities are not affected.     

The objective is to make the educational activities creative by developing skills and knowledge of the teachers.     

Under the capacity building programme, teachers of mathematics, science, social, Nepali, English and economics subjects of grade 10 will be trained on January 4-5, Jha informed.     

According to him, learning classes of mathematics, social, science, economics and other subjects will be conducted for the aspiring students of grade 10 from January 7-20.     

According to the CPC, technology-based learning, use of teaching management system, group learning, project-based learning classes will be included in the learning framework.     

The training of facilitators of early child development education will be held from January 7-12.     

Focal teachers related to the bookless Friday creative learning and skills will be trained on January 8-17. ---
