Prachanda hints at cultural transformation in party

Kathmandu, Jan 2: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that his party has accorded priority for the cultural transformation in the party's upcoming plan of actions.     

During a meeting on Thursday with the academicians, cultural experts and members of cultural fraternity, the former Prime Minister said his party is working on transformation and party rebuilding mission. "In this time, cultural transformation is advanced with importance," he said.     

The Maoist Centre Chairman said that preparations were ongoing to endorse different campaigns from the standing committee and central committee of the CPN (Maoist Centre) for the party building.     

It could give a new impetus to the party's cultural transformation, he said stating that cultural aspects have been highlighted in the party's political report to be tabled at the central committee meeting.     

Likewise, the former Prime Minister called for a sweeping transformation both in party and state regime and claimed that the state regime was still unitary, centralized and singular in culture.     

Arguing that cultural transformation was not possible only through political changes and legal instruments, Dahal stated that citizen's mentality should be changed with utmost efforts.(RSS)
