NOC hikes petroleum price, petrol up by Rs 1 per litre

Kathmandu, Dec 31: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from midnight today.     

According to the decision made by the NOC's Board of Directors, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 1 per litre while diesel by Rs 2 per litre.     

Meanwhile, the aviation fuel towards domestic has been slashed by Rs 2 per litre while USD 15 has been decreased per litre in international. The price for the aviation fuel for international airports at Pokhara and Bhairahawa has been kept as it is.     

At present, aviation fuel in domestic is priced at Rs 126 per litre and 960 per kilo litre in international.     

With the adjusted price, petrol per litre cost Rs 160 for first category while Rs 162 for second category and Rs 163 for third category.     

Similarly, the adjusted price of diesel per litre is Rs 150 for first category, Rs 152 for second category and Rs 153 for third category.     

First category includes places like Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Balbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi, Birgunj DPO. Second category consists places like Surkhet and Dang and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal are third category as per the classification of NOC.     

The adjustment in the price of petroleum products were based on the new tariff provided by the Indian Oil Corporation.(RSS)
