Former minister Kaini’s two books released

By Our Correspondent,Tanahun, Dec. 30: Two books titled ‘Afnai Bigat Niyalda’ and ‘Prajatantrako Saundarya Ra Abissmrit Bimbaharu’ by former Minister and former Central Committee Member of the Nepali Congress, Amar Raj Kaini were unveiled recently.  

The books were unveiled by Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Poudel, who described the books are thought-provoking, insightful, and worthy of collection. 

Speaking at the launch, Minister Poudel highlighted Amar Raj Kaini’s significant contribution to Nepal’s democratic movement, emphasising his leadership and active involvement.

 “His role in strengthening the Nepali Congress party remains invaluable, and it is something we can never forget,” said Poudel.

Teachers Kalpana Poudel and Kalpana Ghimire reviewed the books, noting that they compiled Kaini’s experiences and perspectives on democracy.

 Nepali Congress Tanahun President and Gandaki Province Assembly Member, Jit Prakash Ale, praised Kaini’s contributions as unforgettable for the party’s progress.

Former Constituent Assembly Member Ram Chandra Pokhrel described Kaini as an inspiration in the democratic movement and stressed the importance of the books in helping future generations understand democracy and its significance.

The book, ‘Prajatantrako Saundarya’ is divided into three sections. The first section includes 19 ideological articles by Kaini, published and unpublished, from outlets like Saptahik Bimarsha, Kantipur Daily, Nagarik Daily, and Annapurna Post dating back to 1993. The second section compiles interviews given by Kaini to various newspapers, and the third section includes 14 memoir-style articles written by him. The book has 158 pages.

The second book, ‘Afnai Bigat Niyalda’ is an autobiography containing 104 short and long autobiographical essays.

 The book also includes some documents and colourful photographs of familial, historical, and personal significance. It contains 110 pages.

Both books were published by Dr. Prabha Devi Devkota Kaini, Kaini’s wife.

 It was said that the profits from book sales would be utilised for the education and healthcare of underprivileged children through the Amar-Prabha Fund.

 Kaini’s sons, Prabin and Nabin Kaini have already contributed Rs. 100,000 to the fund.

Kaini had served as a Member of the House of Representatives from Tanahun Constituency - 3 and as the State Minister for Labour.
