By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 26: Communication and Information Technology Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that Gorkhapatra has done an admirable job by publishing pages of various national languages as those languages are the major basis of identity.
Making public the 45th language page of the Gorkhapatra daily, the Vambule Rai language page, at the Ministry on Thursday, Minister Gurung also suggested that Gorkhapatra should gradually add all 124 languages recognised as the languages of the nation.
Stating that Nepal is full of diversity with various languages and cultures and that everyone should get respect, Minister Gurung said that the Ministry and the government are aware of the matter.
Minister Gurung lauded publication of multi-language pages in Gorkhapatra and thus practicising inclusiveness in line with federal republic polity of the nation.
Also the government spokesperson, Minister Gurung expressed his belief that Vambule Rai Page will help to preserve the respective communities' language and culture.
On the occasion, Gorkhapatra Corporation's Executive Chair Bishnu Prasad Subedi said that language pages have boosted dignity of both the Gorkhapatra and the government.
General Manager of the Gorkhapatra Coporation, Lal Bahadur Airi, assured of making Gorkhapatra more inclusive in the future.
National Anthem's author Byakul Maila (Pradeep Kumar Rai) said that for Vambule Rai Dec 26 is a historical day and it is a remarkable work from Gorkhapatra as it gave space for the language.
