Constitution amendment based on need: Chair Dahal

Chitwan, Dec 25: National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has clarified that constitution could be amended on the basis of necessity and relevance.     

He said it while speaking at the programme organized to mark the 70th Establishment Day of Shree Padampur Basic School located at Kalika municipality-5.     

Chair Dahal mentioned, "We are facing some complexities due to delay in formulating acts and laws. We are rich in fundamental rights."     

But regressive efforts in the name of constitution amendment should not be accepted, he stressed.     

He argued the citizens have gained many rights including republic, federalism, and secular state with the promulgation of the constitution.(RSS)
