Local fruits fair in Dhankuta

By Kokila Bhandari, Dhankuta, Dec 25: A local fruit fair has organized at Kagate in Dhankuta Municipality-3 for promoting local production. 

The fair with aim for promoting orange, avocado and fruit is started from Monday.

Dhankuta Municipality Mayor Chintan Tamang said that the fair is intended to promote local tourism and boost fruit market.  

The ward no. -3 Chair Bikash Ghimire that the fair is going to improve the economy and motive youth towards production sector. 

Chairperson of Federation of Nepali Journalists Dhankuta Bidur Khahawas and Chairperson of Industry and Commerce Dhankuta Bijay Santoshi added that the fair will trigger the economic activity. 

The organizer and Samriddhi Yuva Club Chair Mohan Khanal informed that the fair will continue till January 4. 

The fair is organized by Samriddha Yuva Club with a financing support of the ward and support community. 

Chair Ghimire informed that the fair is organized in Kagate this year. The event initiated five year ago declaring Dhankuta as capital of avocado 

In Dhankuta, 4926 families have avocado farm in 12099 Ropani.
