By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 23: The major shooting of the film Hostel 3 was completed in 49 days on Friday. However, director Sashan Kandel informed that about a week of additional scattered shooting remains due to the need for ‘body transformation’ for some actors.
The film is currently in the post-production phase. Although it was initially set to release on February 28, the production team has announced that the film will not be released on that date and that a new release date will be announced soon.
Hostel 3 is the instalment in the Hostel series, regarded as a launchpad for new talent. This third instalment is also expected to be an important film for newcomers entering the Nepali film industry.
The film features Paras Bam, Rihan Giri, Ashish Ghimire, Padam Tamang, Simran Pant, Hena Nagarkoti, Umar Khan, Sama Parajuli, Santosh Baniya, Rohan Shrestha and Ashish Purush, among others.
Notable talents emerging from the Hostel series include Anmol KC, Swastima Khadka, Sushil Shrestha, Najir Husen, Salon Basnet, Prakriti Shrestha and Sushil Sitaula.
The script for Hostel 3 was written by Madhav Sharma, with the story penned by director Kandel himself.
The team includes Arjun Tiwari as DOP, Buddha Thapa and Manoj Khatri as cinematographers, Sudip Kunwar as chief assistant director, Yam Prasad Oli as production designer, Shankar Koirala as executive producer.
