Kavrepalanchow, Dec 22: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has stressed the need to ensure an atmosphere to see clarifications from member(s) in the Committee for Legislation Management provided that a situation arises for postponing the Committee's meeting in the absence of a quorum.
In his address to a two-day review programme on the Secretariat in the operations of House of Representatives session and management, the Speaker urged all the stakeholders concerned to think about the consequences of the postponement of the Committee's meeting for long.
He expressed his concern over what he said about the lack of effectiveness in the roles of the Federal Parliament in the Committee's deliveries.
The Speaker also expressed his concern over the culture of registering an ordinance in the eleventh hour of the parliament session without adequate coordination with lawmakers.
He said he also faced complications in exercising the rights of Speaker as well. An atmosphere should be built so that the decision(s) of the Speaker will be implemented.
Deputy Speaker Indira Rana highlighted the roles of all to operate the parliament effectively. (RSS)
