Bajura, Dec 22: The report about the preliminary assessment of losses from the earthquake in Bajura has been made public. The tremor measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale had occurred with its epicenter at Gotri of Jagannath rural municipality.
According to the loss assessments
made by the security force at all nine local levels, eight houses were
completely destroyed while some were partially damaged during the quake.
According to the District Police
Office, Bajura, 123 households at Gotri are at risk from post-disaster
consequences. Office information officer Janak Bahadur Bohora said the
collection of data on the losses continues in the district.
Meantime, locals have demanded that
the local governments should promptly implement measures to prevent the
affected from increasing cold by providing relief assistances for them. Local
civil society leader Dirgharaj Padhyay wanted the local governments to reach
among the survivors with essential goods and services immediately. (RSS)
