Chitwan, Dec 20: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has called for enabling and simplified legislations and policy across all three-tier government to boost export of domestically produced goods.
Inaugurating the third Khairahari Festival at Khairahani, Chitwan today, Minister Pandey reiterated that increasing export of local products was crucial to strengthen national economy.
"It is imperative to expand exports to bolster national economy. For this, we need an enabling and simplified legislation," Pandey asserted.
Recognizing the tourism potential bearing Chitwan, the Minister viewed that boosting tourism in this region would significantly help revitalize national economy.
He assured of Ministry's utmost policy support for development and promotion of tourism sector as well as development of infrastructures.
On a different note, the Minister pointed out the need to move ahead by thwarting 'politics of deception' that has surfaced in the country's political landscape.
Present in the inaugural were severable notable politicians and leaders of political parties such as Bagmati Province Assembly member Jagannath Thapaliya, Nepali Congress Chitwan's President Rajeshwor Khanal and CPN (UML)'s Chitwan Chairperson Kamal Pathak.
Also, in attendance in the event were CPN (Maoist Centre) Chitwan Coordinator Ramchandra Adhikari, Rastriya Swatantra Party's Chitwan's Chairperson Tikadutta Itani and Khairahani municipality-8's ward Chairperson Shankar Kandel.
They viewed that the Fair would play a significant role in revitalizing the district's economy.
Organized by the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Fair runs through December 31, this year.
There are 225 stalls in the Fair, informed Kumar Khanal, Coordinator of the Festival. (RSS)
