Biratnagar, Dec 17: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has said preparation was underway to formulate the Media Academy Act in the current fiscal year.
Chief Minister Karki shared this while inaugurating the three-day capacity building programme for its local correspondents of Koshi Province organized by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) here today.
Saying Media Academy Act would be significant in capacity development and security of journalists, he stressed on the need of taking positive activities related to development construction carried out by the government among the people and making aware about the government's mistakes and weaknesses.
Chief Minister Karki suggested RSS to make its services as the first choice of the media by changing itself as per the time.
Similarly, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi province, Rewati Raman Bhandari, mentioned that the province government has been continuously involving in promotion of journalism.
The Koshi government has set a target of bring in two million tourists in the province in next year and it would make positive impact on country's overall economy, he shared.
Likewise, RSS Executive Chair Dharmendra Jha mentioned that he was active to make RSS a media of the 21st century.
He directed district correspondents to make public the development construction activities of local levels through journalism, urging them to write news keeping the people in centre.
RSS General Manager Siddha Raj Rai laid emphasis on the need of promoting positive journalism.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Karki and Law Minister Bhandari jointly released a book 'Mithila Mithak' penned by RSS Executive Chair Jha. (RSS)
