'Three levels of govt. should work for preservation of culture'

Kathmandu, Dec. 3: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the federal, province and local levels should take institutional initiatives for the preservation of culture.     

Receiving the Academic Declaration 2081 issued by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Nepal Academy and Nepal Academy of Music and Drama on Tuesday, Minister Pandey called for participation of all sides for preservation and promotion of arts and culture.     

The three Academies submitted the Declaration to the minister seeking its implementation.     

In response, Minister assured to resolve the issues gradually in the Academies. Saying that there were some legal complexities in this field, Minister Pandey called for making uniformity in the Academies.     

Earlier on Monday, the Academies organized a gathering of academies, councils and committees relating to culture, fine arts, literature, music, draft and social science formed by the provincial and local governments.     

Likewise, Minister Pandey pledged to implement those recommendations to the best possible extent.(RSS)
