By-election: RSP's Shrestha wins KMC-16

Kathmandu, Dec.2: Rojina Shrestha of Rastriya Swatantra Party has won the by-election held on December 1 for the post of ward chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, Kathmandu.     

According to the Election Commission, Shrestha secured 1,584 votes while her nearest rival Nepali Congress Debendra Pathak secured 1,304 votes. Likewise, CPN (UML) candidate Laxmi Ratna Tuladhar secure 1,118 votes. 

This is the first victory of RSP in the by-lection. Earlier, NC candidate had won from the constituency area. The by-election was held after the chair Mukunda Rijal of NC passed away.
