By TRN Online, Myagdi, Nov 4: The Magar community of Baranja in the wards of Mangala Rural Municipality- 3 and 4 have celebrated Aagodeu festival.

The Kuryia Magars of 45 different surnames living in Baranja observe the festival every two years, for three days starting from Kukur puja of Tihar.

Ram Roka, ward chair of Mangala Rural Municipality-3, informed that the festival is celebrated by worshiping nature with wishes that no fire related calamity occurs in the Magar settlement.

Pun, Gharti, Roka, Ramjali Roka, Bajhange Roak, Gauthonke Gharti and Budhathoki Magars living in Barnja celebrate this festival, which is considered to have started in the 13th century.
