APF official under custody of rape charges commits suicide

By Liladhar Oli, Ghorahi,  Oct.28: An official of the Armed Police Force (APF) who was arrested on rape charges of two minor girls has committed suicide in police custody. 

A constable working in APF’s battalion number 29, Jwalamai battalion Bhalubang Rewan Pachbhaiya Magar of  Sarumarani Rural Municipality-4 Pyuthan District was under the control of Ward Police Office Ghorahi, Dang, committed suicide by hanging himself. 

Superintendent of Police Arjun Prasad Timilsina, chief of the District Police Office, Dang, said that Magar committed suicide by hanging himself with a sando and a t-shirt he was wearing from the iron rad used in the toilet window of Ward Police Office Ghorahi.

He said that Magar went to the toilet around five PM on Monday and when he did not return for a long time, officials went to look. They found Magar hanging after opening the door of the toilet. 

Two police officials of APF Jwalamai battalion were under custody on a charge of raping minor girls, aged 14 and aged 8, from Bhaluwang, 

An eight-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl who reportedly went to play on a swing were allegedly raped on October 10. Another alleged is in custody.
