By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 26: Kopila Gautam, a two-time cancer survivor, is contesting for the title of the Mrs. Nepal World.

The finale of the beauty pageant is being held on Saturday.

Gautam, initially diagnosed with stage-four ovarian cancer, successfully battled the disease only to face breast cancer later on.

After finishing her third round of chemotherapy for breast cancer, she came across the opportunity to participate in Mrs. Nepal World and embraced it wholeheartedly.

She said she was contesting to inspire other cancer survivors and raise awareness.

Despite remaining under close medical supervision, she is participating in the Mrs. Nepal World with determination and optimism.

“People often think of cancer as a life-ending illness, but that’s not always the case,” said Gautam. “With a balanced lifestyle and proper self-care, cancer patients can live a normal life.”

Her participation in the pageant sends a powerful message of resilience and strength.

The Mrs. Nepal World organised by Ribbon Entertainment is an annual beauty pageant dedicated to married women, and Gautam is competing alongside 28 other contestants, with the finale set for Saturday at the Nepal Academy Hall.

A mother of three, each born through C-section, Gautam has undergone multiple surgeries during her battles with ovarian and breast cancer.

Despite these challenges, she joined the pageant to showcase her confidence and talents to the world.

“I chose this platform to show that life continues even after cancer,” she said.

Gautam is confident that her participation will uplift the spirits of other cancer patients and shift society’s perception of them toward positivity. Alongside being a survivor, Gautam is also an accomplished singer, having recorded many folk songs.
