Kavya Chitra Srijana Shibir concludes

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 26: An art workshop combining the theme of poetry, titled ‘Kavya Chitra Srijana Shibir,’ jointly organised by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and APEC in Kathmandu concluded on Friday.

At this event, 15 poets, including Bishwo Mohan Shrestha, Rajendra Shalabh, Bidhan Acharya, Sneha Sayami, Kishor Pahadi, Geeta Karki, Momila, Rajani Dhakal, Mani Lohani, Babu Tripathi, Prajwal Adhikari, Suman Thapa, Anita Lama, Om Rijal and Deep Darpan presented their poems, which served as the basis for artworks created by 15 artists.

The artists, including Dineshwor Mahato, Aruna Hingmang, Sauraganga Darshandhari, Santosh Rai, Dipendraman Banepali, Devendra Kumar Kafle ‘Thumkeli,’ Sanjay Bantawa Rai, Kiran Manandhar, Ramesh Nath Khanal, Narendra Bahadur Shrestha, Keshav Raj Khanal, Radheshyam Mulmi, Bipana Maharjan, KK Karmacharya, and Sundar Lama, created artworks based on the poems. The poets and artists were paired through a lottery system, said Member Secretary of the Academy Devendra Kumar Kafle. 

After the artworks were completed, a formal programme was held where the poets recited their poems.

Sanjay Bantawa Rai, head of the Contemporary Art Department, said that the event was a unique experiment in fine arts. He mentioned that such programmes could be instrumental in connecting writers and visual artists. 

Bishwo Mohan Shrestha, president of APEC Nepal, expressed his happiness to host the programme for the first time in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts.
