Chair Prachanda insists on economic transformation

Kathmandu, Oct 18: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and erstwhile Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said time demands the entire political parties to engage in making Nepal prosperous with deeper self-compunction.     

In his address to the 'Business Meet 2024' organised by the World Hindu Economic Forum Nepal Chapter here Friday, Dahal said as the general business activities and small economic growth is not sufficient to address people's needs, a transformative approach should be stressed.     

"It is a matter of concern that economic progress in many years of the political formation failed to meet the expectations," he said, adding that there is no time but to encourage economic prosperity and development.     

As he said, high politicization in each sector has hindered the economic development and it has been proved in our experiences.     

Encouraging achievement in the hydropower development has created a base for building a prosperous Nepal, according to him.     

Forum founder Swami Bigyananda said political stability, policy clarity, and the strong will power on part of rulers are prerequisite to strengthen the nation's economy.     

Forum's Nepal Chapter Chair Pradeep Man Vaidya said they conduct policy debates with politicians and business communities to enable atmosphere of a prosperous economy for Nepal. (RSS)
