Kathmandu, Oct 18: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has responded to the arrest of party President Rabi Lamichhane as an attempt to end the 'new generation's politics'.

After the arrest of President Lamichhane in connection with the charge of cooperatives' fund embezzlement on Friday evening, the Acting Spokesperson of the party, Manish Jha, informed the Rastriya Samachar Samiti that it was clear they would not do any activity that would inconvenience the people and damage property in protest of the arrest.

He further said, "We have no malice towards the police nor to the court and the law. We have accepted the process; we help the judicial process; we have taken this incident as the beginning of the fight for political change."

Earlier, the Kaski District Court had allowed the Nepal Police to arrest Lamichhane to forward investigation on the charge of embezzling funds from the Suryadarshan Cooperatives, Pokhara.

Immediately after receiving the permission, a police team reached the RSP Central Office, Banasthali, Kathmandu with an arrest warrant.

The District Police Office Kaski has been investigating the case of Lamichhane embezzling funds from Gorkha Media Network in cahoots with Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai, founder chair of Suryadarshan Cooperative. (RSS)
