29 water supply projects completed in Tanahun and Nawalpur

Tanahun, Oct 13: Twenty-nine water supply projects have been completed in Tanahun and Nawalpur in the fiscal year 2023/24, the Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office said. These projects were constructed under the supervision of the Office.     

Engineer at the Division Office Binu Lohani said among the projects include 19 projects funded by the Gandaki province government in Tanahun and nine in Nawalpur, and one project in Tanahun funded by the federal government.     

Two hundred and fifteen projects, including 152 in Tanahun and 63 in Nawalpur, are being constructed in the current fiscal as the carry-over projects from last fiscal year, funded by the province government.     

Towards the federally-funded projects, 53 projects in Tanahun and 21 in Nawalpur are being constructed.     

Engineer Lohani said that most of the projects are incomplete due to shortage of budget for the projects, dispute over the water source and other causes.(RSS)
