Man shoots wife dead, injures father

 By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi,  Sept.26: A young man shot and killed his wife, and injured his father in the process in Haripurwa Municipality, Sarlahi. 

The resident of Haripurwa Municipality-5, Sarlahi, who came riding a motorcycle along with his friend around 2:45 PM on Wednesday, shot dead his 23-year-old wife Chitralekha Yadav. The friend who came with him waited outside while the accused went inside and blew a fatal shot to his wife.

 According to the Police, Chitralekha died on the spot after two deadly rounds of gunshots in the head, while, the 54-year-old father of the accused Ram Dinesh Raya received an injury from a gunshot. 

Raya is receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital Malangwa. The accused escaped on a motorbike with his friend. 

According to the acting Chief of Sarlahi Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Shrestha, the search for the absconded accused and his friend is underway. 

The preliminary investigation showed that a small weapon (pistol) was used for murder. The police recovered two rounds of bullet casings and one round of misfired bullets at the crime scene, while the murder weapon is yet to be found. 

According to locals, Dhirendra, who shot his wife and father, had returned home from a foreign job a month ago. It is understood that he does not stay at home after a domestic dispute.

Even DSP Shrestha credited the motive of the crime as a domestic dispute. 

On Wednesday night, he suddenly came to the house with a weapon and shot at his wife and father. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha said that the incident occurred due to a domestic dispute.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Provincial Hospital Malangwa for postmortem. 

A team of police is at the crime scene investigating the case.
