Constitution has ended discrimination, oppression and has weaved all into single thread of national unity: President Paudel

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept.19: President Ramchandra Paudel has said the constitution has ended all forms of discrimination and oppression imposed by the centralized and unitary system of governance and has woven the Nepali society's ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural, and geographical diversity into a single thread of national unity.

Wishing on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day,2024, the President expressed his belief that this constitution day will further reinforce the political parties, leadership, government, and the entire state power more responsibility of making the country more democratic, just, and result-oriented. 

President Paudel in his message said, "We all must understand that changes in the political system and government structure alone will not fulfill the expectations of the age, for this, it is necessary to bring changes in the character, political integrity, and values of state power. Otherwise, not change in behavior does not confirm political change." 

He also voiced a hope that the occasion will inspire people's collective efforts towards fulfilling the aspirations of sustainable peace, good governance, development, and prosperity through a federal democratic republican governance system. 

He said, "Culture and nature have opened doors for endless possibilities of employment and income in the country. Nepal can be a developed country if all kinds of injustices are ended and the resources available can be managed and disturbed equitably through good governance."

President Paudel took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of political activists, citizens, and leaders who played key roles in Nepal’s various political movements. He recognized their efforts in establishing the republic and praised their leadership in these struggles.
