Won't do anything that harms Nepal's image: PM Oli

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 16: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he will not do any untoward activity that will bring Nepal's head down and tarnish its image in course of his participation in the 79^th General Assembly of United Nations (UN).

Informing the House of Representatives (HoR) about the issues to be raised in the UNGA, PM Oli made the House clear about Nepal's firm policy to not accept interference in its internal affairs nor intervene in others as per the UN Charter.

The PM said that he would put forth views in the UNGA about Nepal's constitution, democratic norms and values, Nepal's identity as a sovereign and independent nation, national interests and international commitments.

"I will talk about our efforts for development and prosperity and the challenges we have faced as well as on ways for cooperation with the global community for complementing our efforts," said PM Oli, adding, " Nepal wants a good neighbourly relations, not that of a rude and deceitful, and we behave with our neighbours as per our conviction. Our belief is- amity with all, enmity with none."

He said he will represent the country in the international forum with deep realization that politics is for nation and people, and for present as well as for future generation.

The PM shared that he will address the 'Future Summit' in the UNGA and present Nepal's views on humanity, security of the earth, ecosystem of the Himalayas and the seas as sea levels are rising due to melting down of the Himalayas.

He said he would also put forth his views on competitive democratic system being practiced in Nepal at Columbia University and Harvard University.
