President Paudel honours 10 social figures

Kathmandu, Sept 14: President Ramchandra Paudel has honoured 10 literary figures, writers, singers and sportspersons for their contribution to the Sudurpaschim and Karnali region through their respective genres.     

While inaugurating the 'Srashta Abhinandan and Deuda Sanskriti Sanjh' organized by the Cultural Society Nepal here on Saturday, President Paudel honoured the personalities who contributed to the society through language, literature, culture, sports and journalism.     

President Paudel honoured writer Rajendra Singh Rawal, actor Biraj Bhatta, athlete Deepak Bista, Deuda singer Netraraj Shahi, director Bhim Bahadur Thapa, singer Tika Pun, singer Lal Bahadur Dhami, journalist Basant Pratap Singh, singer Suresh Shahi and Lokendra Bahadur Saud.     

President Paudel also observed the cultural programme held on the occasion.     

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari also participated in the event.     

President of the society, Ram Prasad Awasthi said such felicitation programmes would be continued in the days to come.(RSS)
