Water level in Karnali River crosses danger level, high alert issued

By Abinash Chaudhary, Dhangadhi, Sept.13: The water level of the Karnali River has crossed the danger mark triggered by the incessant river for two days. 

Gauge reader of the Automatic Water Level Station at Chisapani, Parbati Gurung, said that the water level of the Karnali River has crossed the danger level measuring 10.9 meters. The danger level of Karnali is marked at 10.80 meters.

The locals around the riverbank of the river along with locals of many municipalities of Bardiya and Kailiai, which are impacted by the swelled river, are issued a high alert and to go to a safer place. 

The Karnali River impacts mostly Rajapur Municipality of Bardiya, Geruwa Rural Municipality, and Madhuwan Municipality of Karnali. 

Likewise, different areas of the Tikapur Municplaity and Janaki Rural Municplaity of Kailali are inundated by the swelled Karnali River. 

Gurung said that locals of the areas who face inundation are informed to be on high alert.
