Kathmandu, Sept 10: Members of the National Assembly have demanded the government to provide support to earthquake affected people immediately.
They expressed concerned over government's apathy to provide support to victims since one year has passed.
In today's meeting of the National Assembly, Maya Prasad Sharma stressed the need of shifting quake-affected families to safer places, adding the victims have not got relief materials from the state.
Similarly, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya mentioned that providing support to those faced losses from natural disaster was the responsibility of the state.
Expressing concern over alarming increase in suicide cases in the country, Padam Bahadur Pariyar pointed out the need of providing counseling service in local levels.
Likewise, Ananda Prasad Dhungana and Ghan Shyam Rijal complained of problems facing by the people in their movement in lack of repair, maintenance and black topping of roads.
Renu Chand stressed the need of increasing 'quota' for the study of medical education in Sudurpaschim province while Bishnu Bahadur Bishwokarma on the need of increasing quotas at colleges for targeted community at special scholarship programme.
Similarly, Krishna Prasad Adhikari said the state should make a plan to control human-wildlife conflict as it is increasing at buffer zone of national parks and implement the plan.
Meanwhile speaking in a special hour of today's NA meeting, Narayan Dutta Mishra laid emphasis on the need of replacing the use of foreign timber by increasing production of domestic timber.
He explained that import of forest products including timber should be replaced for the economic development of the country.
Similarly, Jhakku Prasad Subedi shared, "The constitution was promulgated from sacrifice of many people. So only the two largest parties in the parliament cannot amend it." (RSS)
