HoR meeting: corruption plagues local level

Kathmandu, Aug 29: Lawmaker Ashok Kumar Chaudhari has said corruption is rife at the local level.

The corrupt practices are thriving from bidding to project implementation, he said, urging the concerned bodies to investigate the malaise properly.     

In the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, lawmaker Roshan Karki drew Speaker's attention to immediately stop the barb-trade between the ruling and opposition parties. "What do people comment when one party castigates other," she wondered, adding, "Have the big parties delivered well to the people?"     

Similarly, Amar Bahadur Thapa complained that process on forwarding education bill was halted for the lawmakers putting forth amendment failed to provide time. Constructive engagement from all sides is imperative to decide model of education, he stressed.     

Madhav Sapkota warned that none was allowed to insult Maoist movement. He asked all not to act against the Constitution.     

Although road accidents were on rise of late, the government was not taking sufficient action to curb damages, blamed Nisha Dangi. (RSS)
