Today's weather: Rainfall likely across the country

Kathmandu, Aug 26: The impacts of monsoon winds are prevailing across the country now. Likewise, the low pressure line of the monsoon is in average location in the west and around the average location in the south and east, it is said.    


According to a weather bulletin issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology today, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country while light rain with thunder and lightning is taking place at one or two places of Koshi and Lumbini provinces.    


According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the seven provinces.    


Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi province. Similarly, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight.   

 
Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces and at one or two places of rest of the provinces.    


The Department has urged the public to avoid the risk or damage of floods, landslide and soil erosion in one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi Province as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places of the hilly region.    


The Department has also requested the authorities concerned to take necessary precautions as it is likely to partially affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport in these areas.  (RSS)
