Cabinet decisions: Permission given to acquire land for fast track

Kathmandu, Aug 23: The government has given permission for land acquisition in Makawanpur district for the Kathmandu-Tarai/ Madhes fast track project.     

The cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to give permission to acquire around 33,975 square feet land for the project, said Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.     

Similarly, Nepal Oil Corporation Limited has been granted permission to acquire around five bighas of land at Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city.     

A decision has been made to give prior-permission to Lalitpur metropolitan city to establish sister-city relation with Cheorwon-gun city of South Korea.     

Likewise, the government decided to lift ban on TikTok with conditions and government's this decision would be implemented once the determined conditions are fulfilled, added Minister Subba.     

The cabinet has allowed to create 16 temporary quotas of officer-level for current fiscal year at Advertisement Board and Security Printing Centre.     

Similarly, Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Prof Dr Shiva Raj Adhikari, is to participate in the meeting 'Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network, to be held in Uzbekistan from August 27-29.     

The government has decided to give approval to Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, to participate in 'First Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children' at Bogota of Colombia from November 7-9 as well as Minister for Forest and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi to participate in 'One Planet Network Forum, 2024' to be organized in Brazil from September 12 and 13.     

According to Minister Gurung, a decision has been made to appoint Dr Khag Raj Sharma of Rupandehi as the member-secretary of the National Cooperative Development Board. The post had remained vacant.(RSS)
