Online, Kathmandu, Aug 20: Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign felicitated eight
outstanding personalities on its 15th anniversary.
The awardees
include Mohan Bam, 5th Australian National Judo title holder, Dr. Raju Adhikari,
an acclaimed international scientist in the biomedical field and Dr. Khagendra
Thapa, recipient of the Premier Sustainability Award 2015 of Victoria,
Australia.
Similarly,
Salma Bahamdun, black belt recipient in Taekwondo at the age of 9, Parikshit
Shrestha, winner of various state and national level awards in body building,
very popular singer from Kandra Band Vivek Shrestha, successful model and event
organizer Sunod Shrestha, recipient of 2023 'Top 100 South Asian Innovation
Business Leaders Victoria' and featuring model in many music videos Anju
Adhikari, according to a press note issued on August 18 by the Campaign.
Speaking in the
program held on August 18 the Chief Guest Rajendra Lingden, Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra
Party, said that his party is committed to keep Nepal identity alive.
Global coordinator of LKGC Ram Kumar Shrestha briefed about activities and nationally and internationally important achievements of the Campaign to dismiss the misconception on Buddha’s birthplace.
Shrestha stated
that the Campaign was contributing to the objective of the government by
removing misconception about the birthplace of Buddha as its campaign is make to everyone know that Buddha was born in Nepal.
He
complained that the government is not listening to the suggestions given by the
campaign that could have global impact.
Shrestha
informed that he developed ‘Lumbini Diplomacy’ concept and handed over to
former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in a felicitation program to
former minister and ambassadors.
Representing
the awardees senior scientist Dr. Raju Adhikari said that Nepal's future lies
in investing in science, technology and innovation. He added that the objective
of the campaign has national and international importance, and there is no
doubt that party like RPP will support this campaign and follow up with the
Government for the implementation of its recommendations.
On the occasion Ananta Paudel announced his candidacy for the upcoming local elections in Australia and explained the purpose of his candidacy.
