Federalism guarantees people's rights: Karnali Province Chief

Karnali, Aug 20: Chief of Karnali Province, Yagya Raj Joshi, has mentioned that people's rights would not be guaranteed without federalism.     

At a programme organised today in Surkhet on the occasion of Karnali Province and Martyr Day, Province Chief Joshi said the constitution and federalism was achieved from people's sacrifice.     

He shared, "Karnali is rich in means and resources. It is necessary to utilize it at maximum. The Karnali Province government to play leadership role in development of Karnali province."     

Karnali could be made prosperous through the medium of agriculture, nature, culture and adventurous tourism.     

Recalling the sacrifice and contribution of Hari Bahadur Kunwar of Jumla and Yam Bahadur BC, Tikaram Gautam and Gopal Singh Rajwar of Surkhet, Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel shared that a decision was made to make arrangement of employment to a member of each family.     

They died in course of Karnali agitation launched from August 8-21, 2015 over border issue.     

On the occasion of establishment of Karnali Province and Martyr Day, Chief Minister Kandel and ministers paid tribute to martyrs at Martyrs' Park.     

Similarly, Two journalists of Jajarkot district—Rajendra Karki and Yagya Bahadur Khatri and Tulram Pandey of Kalikot were provided with Rs 50,000 each.     

Likewise, Director of Karnali Province Hospital, Prof Dr Damber Khadka, was honoured with excellent award while 10 other staffs with best award.((RSS)
