Mahakali highway obstructed due to landslide

Darchula, Aug 19: The Gokuleshwar-Khalanga section of the Mahakali highway has been obstructed due to a landslide triggered by overnight rain.     

Traffic on this section of the road has been disrupted due to landslides at Kathpate Naktad, Panebaj, Airichhana and Dhamigada of Malikarjun Rural Municipality. Vehicles including passenger buses to and from the district have been stranded due to this. Even the vehicles plying short routes have stuck.     

An excavator of the Division Road Office Baitadi has been removing the landslide debris on the road since the morning today, Road Division Supervisor Rajendra Singh Dhami said. Dhami added that it will take time to clear the road of the debris since mudslides is taking place at various places and only one excavator is available. (RSS)
