Kathmandu, May 14: The Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata organized an interaction programme on Nepal’s Trade, Transit and Investment Facilitation on Wednesday.
The programme served as a platform for discussions on enhancing Nepal-India cooperation in the areas of trade, transit, logistics, connectivity and investment, the Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata stated.
On the occasion, Consul General Jhakka Prasad Acharya reaffirmed the commitment of the Consulate General to continue working closely with all stakeholders to further promote trade facilitation, connectivity and economic cooperation between Nepal and India.
A thematic presentation on “Nepal’s Trade, Transit and Investment” was delivered by Deepesh Lekhak, Deputy Consul General, highlighting Nepal’s trade and transit framework, investment opportunities and initiatives aimed at strengthening Nepal-India economic cooperation.
The interaction session provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views and offer constructive suggestions relating to trade facilitation, customs coordination, logistics management, connectivity and investment promotion.
Chairman of Kolkata's Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Port Rajendra Raman and other senior officials, representatives from Kolkata Customs and members of the Kolkata Customs House Agents Association and Nepal Customs House Agents Association and other officials from the stakeholders attended the event, according to the Consulate General of Nepal, Kolkata.
