Minister Khadka underscores on meeting government's goals in renewable energy sector

Kathmandu, Aug 16: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka has directed the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) to move ahead the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Regulations and its Organization and Management Survey for the promotion of renewable energy. 

Minister Khadka who is also the Chair of the AEPC Board issued this directive in a meeting of the Board in Singha Durbar today.

A bill designed for the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency has already been tabled in the Federal Parliament. 

On the occasion, Minister Khadka urged the Center to work vigorously for fulfilling the goals set by the government for the development of renewable energy. 

AEPC Executive Director Nawaraj Dhakal said that the Board discussed the projects and programmes implemented by the Center in Fiscal Year 2023/24, reviewed the project progress, the annual programmes and budget extension and other issues including the workforce necessary for the Center. (RSS)
