Ranjha (Banke), Aug 15: A total of 800 people have obtained employment opportunity in the industry and enterprises operational in Nepalgunj industrial corridor.
They got employment opportunity in 34 industries operating in the industrial sector. Chief engineer at the Industrial Area Management Office Prakash KC said 95 per cent of the job seekers are men. Although there is a fall in production volume compared to the past, all the industries here are in operation.
More than 1,000 people were employed in these industries in the past. Most of the workers in the industrial sector are Indian citizens.
Central member of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions Purna KC said they have been putting pressure on the industries to give priority to Nepalis in employment.
The industrial corridor was established in 233 ropanis of land in 2030 BS. Copper, brass, bronze, aluminum utensils, food items, electrical materials, plywood, doors, transformers and plastic utensils are being produced in the full capacity industrial area, it was shared.
Bheri Technical School that was established with the objective of producing skilled technical human resource in the industrial area is also in operation. (RSS)
