KMC starts 24-hour hotline for disaster and epidemic management

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 31: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office has started a 24-hour hotline for disaster risk and epidemic management including dengue and cholera.

KMC has urged citizens to promptly dial 1180 in case of suspected dengue infection and get the required advice. The service will be provided round the clock which earlier was given during office time. 

The services will be delivered in collaboration with the Department of Health Services, and City Police. They will work together to manage and solve inundation, flood, and waterborne diseases caused by the incessant rainfall. 

In response to the heightened risk of the rapid spread of cholera, and dengue posed by ongoing rainfall, the local government has established a free hotline, 1180, offering counseling services to educate and assist citizens regarding dengue.

The local government has warned about a heightened risk of water-borne infection amidst continuous rains.
