People's representatives role vital to improve education, SEE results: Maoist leader Gautam

By TRN Online, Hetauda, July 24: CPN(Maoist Center) leader Bijay Gautam has remarked that the results of the Secondary Education Exam (SEE) has become weak because of the lack of focus of the people's representatives on the issue.

“Education is the main pillar for development, the main infrastructure for other infrastructure. Therefore, this sector needs special attention and adequate investment,” said Gautam, a central committee member of the CPN (Maoist Center), at the felicitation programme for the SEE pass-outs organised at Bakaiya rural municipality on Tuesday by the local level committee of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (Revolutionary).

Some 46 SEE graduates with outstanding grades from 11 different schools of the Bakaiya rural municipality were felicitated in the programme.

Leader Gautam placed emphasis on effective teaching learning and corresponding environment.

Bridges, roads, embankments are considered today as indicators of development, but I believe more important is education because education is the mega infrastructure for all other infrastructure, he said.

Sarkesh Ghalan, Chairperson of Bagmati rural municipality, viewed that local level governments should focus on creating an enabling teaching learning environment as it is their responsibility.

Makawanpur district coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Center) , Bhim Pakhrin, District Coordination Committee of Makawanpur, Lalit Ghalan, local level people’s representatives and education stakeholders were present in the programme along with the students.
